Coventry University’s second Doctoral Capability and Development Conference took place from Tuesday 30 April – Thursday 2 May 2019.

DCAD19 provided all CU postgraduate researchers an opportunity to present their research in a supportive environment and offered a fantastic forum to make new connections and share ideas for future research. Presentations were organised around the Coventry University research themes to promote interdisciplinary understanding and community building.

Throughout the conference ran the theme of postgraduate researcher and supervisory development. Every oral presenter received constructive feedback from our academic panel.

The six finalists for the inaugural CU Outstanding Research Supervision Team Award 2019 gave a short presentation at the addressing and considering the team’s approach to research supervision and its impact. The winners were announced at the DCAD19 Poster session.

You said…we did

In response to feedback from DCAD18 participants

…..we moved venue from Elm Bank to the TechnoCentre for all conference sessions and activities. All the posters were displayed throughout the conference and the focus of the poster presentations was on sharing and feedback rather than competition. The budget saved on poster prize money was used to hire the venue.
