DCAD22 Presentation Guidance
General Information
Venue:Techno Centre, Coventry University Technology Park, Puma Way, Coventry CV1 2TT
Arrival: Please arrive promptly for the start of your presentation session. It is expected that you will remain in the session to support the other presenters
Enjoy Yourself: We are looking forward to hearing about your research! Try to enjoy the opportunity to share all of your hard work with the audience
Feedback: Your presentation session will be hosted by an experienced session chair who will keep track of timings and introduce the presenters. Also present will be a feedback panel member who will provide each presenter with confidential paper feedback after each session
RECAP Resource Hub: Further Resources on Presenting at Conferences
Name your visual aid with your full name and email the file or link to RECAP@coventry.ac.uk by 09.00 on Monday 25 April. Your presentation will be loaded onto the computer and will be ready for you to present during the session.
Please note no amendments can be made after submission. This enables your visual aids to be loaded on the computer in advance and checked, allowing sessions to run smoothly and on time.
Oral Presentation
You are expected to attend the entire session that you are presenting in.
Timing: 10 minutes or less followed by questions from the audience
Content: suitable for a non-specialist audience
Visual aids appeal to an individual’s sense of sight and help further illustrate a point through e.g. slides, flip charts, artefacts, models and videos. If your visual aids require software other than PowerPoint/Adobe Reader/Internet Browser please contact us in plenty of time to discuss your requirements. If you need access to presentation resources e.g. flip chart please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Pecha Kucha Presentation
You are expected to attend the entire session that you are presenting in.
Timing: 6 minutes and 40 seconds followed by questions from the audience
Content: we recommend that you use your presentation to provide a high level overview of your research or showcase a particular element of your research. You should target your presentation to a non-specialist audience
Format: You will have a PowerPoint slide deck with 20 slides (including your title slide), each slide will be on the screen for 20 seconds before automatically advancing on to the next slide.

Poster Presentation
The posters must be: A1 (59.4 x 84.1cm) and portrait orientation. See file submission details above.
RECAP will print and display your poster for you on a poster board in the Techno Centre for the entire 2-day event
Please make every effort to attend the official poster session on Wednesday 27th April. You are also welcome to stand by your poster at other times of the conference (e.g. during refreshment breaks and lunches)
Poster Pitch
Poster pitches will take place at the end of some sessions. If you opted to present a poster pitch, the date & time of the session you will be presenting your pitch can be found in an email from recap titled ‘DCAD22: Poster Presentation Information’. If you are unsure when your pitch will take place, please email recap@coventry.ac.uk ASAP.
In your pitch, you will have the opportunity to speak about their poster for 2 minutes.

Please register your dietary requirements for the lunch and refreshments using the DCAD Registration Form. You are encouraged to attend other sessions at the conference, please see the conference programme for further information.
You are welcome to invite your fellow Coventry University colleagues to watch you present. Audience members will be able to register to attend your presentation session via the DCAD Registration Form.
