Are you a PhD or MRes student who is interested in improving their research academic writing? Want to complete some of your Researcher Development Activity (RDA) hours?
The Centre for Academic Writing’s 7023CAW Crafting a Research Article examines the features, argumentation and expectations of the research article as an academic writing genre. Participants select and review a range of research articles in their discipline with a view to developing their own approach to research writing.
As a taught module equivalent to 10 credits this would account for 100 RDA hours whilst developing writing skills essential for being a professional researcher. You are required to complete all assessments associated with the module, and achieve a pass level, to gain the full 100 hours. If you do not complete all assessments and achieve a pass, the amount of hours allocated will be at the module leader’s discretion.
The module is designed for those who are approaching writing for publication for the first time and have begun (or are about to begin) a research project that could lead to a scholarly or scientific publication.
