Call for Contributors: Pint of Science 2019

Coventry and Warwick universities are joining forces to deliver the Pint of Science Festival 2019 and are now looking for speakers to sign up and take part.

Pint of Science is an annual festival where researchers and experts give talks of approximately 30 minutes on a range of subjects to public audiences in pubs and bars across Coventry and Leamington Spa. This year’s festival takes place from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May and the deadline for speakers to register to take part is Thursday 31 January 2019.

Next years’ Pint of Science Festival takes place from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May 2019 and we’re looking for academics to talk about their research under the following categories for approximately 30 minutes:
  • Beautiful Mind – neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry
  • Atoms to Galaxies – physics, chemistry, maths, astronomy
  • Our Body – medicine, human biology, health
  • Planet Earth – geosciences, plant sciences, zoology
  • Tech Me Out – biotechnology, robotics, computers
  • Our Society – law, history, politics, policy, languages
  • Creative Reactions – art and science come together
The venues (bars and pubs) will be in the centre of Coventry and tickets are available to the public priced at £4 each. This is a joint collaboration with the University of Warwick and we will be working closely with them to organise and promote the event.
