The Mental Health and Wellbeing Zone: How to book an appointment

Are you feeling lonely or overwhelmed? Are you struggling to adjust, to cope or make sense of things? Are you feeling low, anxious, angry or scared? Are you trying to come to terms with loss, of a loved one, of the way things should have been for you or someone else? Have past difficulties resurfaced?

It’s ok not to feel ok.

Dr Lesley Harrison (Clinical Psychologist) and Steph McCoy (CBT Therapist) are Mental Health Coordinators (MHCs) at Coventry University who are trained to listen and offer you support. They provide brief, confidential and remote assessment and intervention sessions for CU Staff and Postgraduate Researchers. You can refer yourself and do not need your Manager or Director of Study’s approval to access this confidential service.

How do I access this service?

Click here to book an appointment or go to the Mental Health Zone to read more about the service and access resources. Upon booking an appointment you will be asked to complete an online, confidential, referral form. Once the Mental Health and Wellbeing Zone have received this, you will receive an email from WBZone offering you an appointment with Lesley or Steph.

What happens during the appointment?

During the assessment you will be asked about what is troubling you and the MHC will help you to make sense of things, provide relevant resources, direct you to relevant online resources and signpost you to further support if necessary.

What happens after the appointment?

Lesley or Steph will email you with an agreed action plan, relevant resources and links to relevant online resources.
