Project Management in a Nutshell – Workshop for Early Career Researchers

Tuesday 10 Jan 2023 @ 8:31 am

Free

Want to have a promising career delivering your research projects? If yes, one essential ingredient is mastering the basics of project management concepts and principles. The session is aimed at bolstering your ability to win and implement research projects. This new specially designed session will provide you with useful tips, tools and techniques to strengthen your bid writing and research project planning skills.  Whether you are leading a small research assignment or active in a large multi-partner project, discover the typical challenges faced, the project pitfalls and frequent delivery mistakes made during the project lifecycle.

Wherever you are on your research funding journey, join us to establish how to manage your research grant from award start to final project closure. The morning session will focus on the project life cycle, research collaboration and risk management. The afternoon session will explore budget management, skills of a project manager and leadership in research project management.

The workshop is designed to enable you to successfully address the terms and conditions of research grants. It will be highly interactive and will involve ‘real-life’ based activities and topical case studies with opportunities to discuss, learn from fellow delegates and raise questions to aid your thinking. A senior researcher at Coventry University will also be sharing their own unique research journey and research project experience.

Who will benefit from participating? Early Career Researchers employed within a Research Centre (this is not suitable for postgraduate researchers).

Who are the facilitators? Azhar Ali and Jag Pabla, Senior Research Delivery Support Partners at Coventry University
