“Ethical considerations when working with children” – Research Integrity & Ethics 2022

Session outline

Studying children and young people is a vital part of research for many fields. However, there are specific ethical considerations to take into account when working with children. This session will provide an overview of some of the key issues and how they can be effectively addressed to allow high quality research with children and young people.

Brief bio

Professor Julia Carroll has worked in the fields of Developmental and Educational Psychology for over twenty years, and has published over 30 journal articles on these topics. She has carried out research with a wide range of different groups of children and young people, from pre-schoolers to adolescents. She has also worked with young people with language and communication difficulties.

Prof Carroll is based at the Centre for Global Learning at Coventry University.
