Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis

Session Description

Qualitative data includes text, audio, video, images and artefacts, and the nature of the data fundamentally different from quantitative data. Analysing qualitative data requires looking into the inherent meanings, patterns, connections and structure of the information, and the treatment of qualitative data is different from that of quantitative data. In qualitative research the data is broken down into discernible fragments, from which meanings are unveiled, connections are established and patters and structures are established in interpretation.

This workshop will be suitable for both PGR and Staff who are new to qualitative data analysis and want to use this approach in near future. The content will focus on providing an understanding of the features and process of qualitative data analysis which will form the basis for advanced analytical techniques.
