The Coventry University Research Hootenanny is a vibrant mix of activities to showcase research excellence at CU, to celebrate our researchers’ successes and to explore new ways to undertake and to share research – locally, nationally and internationally.
The inaugural Coventry University Research Hootenanny was 15-19 January, 2018 and concluded with a full day conference:

Coventry University Postgraduate Researcher of the Year 2018
Following a busy day of presentations and interviews with the judging panel Morwenna Mckenzie, Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience nominee was announced as the inaugural Coventry University Postgraduate Researcher of the Year.

Coventry University Three Minute Thesis 2018
After much preparation, practicing and battling through the hard fought heats during the week the winner of the 3MT Grand Final was Sahar Shahid, Health and Life Sciences with her 3MT: ‘A World without The Batman’.
2nd: Alexis Wilson, Engineering, Environment and Computing – Strengthen, and add lightness
3rd: Scott McGuire, Health and Life Sciences - Exercise, man’s best medicine
The People’s Choice voted for by the audience at the Grand Final was Jenny Mackay, Health and Life Sciences with her 3MT ‘The Hidden Side of Domestic Violence’.
